Sponsoring Pool Scholarships

The Town of Marion offers opportunities, in partnership with Smyth County Social Services, for organizations and citizens to sponsor scholarships for disadvantaged citizens to gain entry to the Marion Waterpark. The guidelines for sponsorship and distribution of Marion Waterpark daily admissions passes are outlined below. By submitting your name and phone number at the bottom of the page, you are agreeing to this set of guidelines. Bill Rush, Town Manager, will contact you to discuss donation process.

Giving Level 1- $1000: The patron will receive 1.5 times the donation in a $5 day pass value, which would equate to 300 day passes to the Marion Waterpark. 10% of those passes will be retained by the Patron (30 passes) for distribution by the Patron. 90% of the passes (270 passes) will be turned over to Smyth County Social Services, which will distribute them through an application/award basis. The Patron will receive a donation letter from the Town of Marion in the amount of $1500. No day passes generated under this process can be resold.

Giving Level 2- $500: The patron will receive 1.5 times the donation in a $5 day pass value, which would equate to 150 day passes to the Marion Waterpark. 10% of those passes will be retained by the Patron (15 passes) for distribution by the Patron. 90% of the passes (135 passes) will be turned over to Smyth County Social Services, which will distribute them through an application/award basis.
