The Finance Department and Clerk's Office, headed by the Town Clerk/Director of Finance Cindy Y. Stanley, is responsible for all of the Town's financial operations. These include development of the budget, end of year audit, all financial reporting and reconcilement, utility billing and collections, real estate and personal property tax billing and collections, business licenses, accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivables, funds from various outside sources such as Smyth County, the Commonwealth of Virginia and the United States Treasury, investment management and debt issuance and management in accordance with general accounting procedures.
We are located on the main floor of the Municipal Building (Town Hall). Customers may visit us from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on Town holidays. There is parking available at the front and rear entrances of the building, and the building is handicap accessible through the rear entrances.
