The Town of Marion's Purchasing Department consists of two full-time employees and is overseen by the Purchasing Agent. The duty of the department is to buy any goods, services or materials required to maintain successful production of all Town departments. The main challenge is to buy high quality supplies and services at a reasonable cost. Various methods are utilized to accomplish this objective, including formal competitive bidding, informal competitive proposals or informal direct purchases.
