Marion Police Department is proud to serve one of the most picturesque and historic towns in Southwest Virginia. With an established record of excellence, our officers and staff work with the community and its elected representatives to ensure a safe environment for both residents and visitors. One traditional means of cooperation between our department and the citizens of Marion is often recalled. In the days before modern technology, a light was erected across from the courthouse at the top of Main Street. This light would be turned on when the officer on downtown duty needed to either call in or report to headquarters. When the officer was too busy to see the light come on, a good citizen would always inform him that he needed to report to headquarters. In this same spirit of cooperation, we ask that all you continue to help us with your suggestions, tips, and information by either emailing or telephoning our department, or by contacting any of our officers personally.
The Marion Police Department will strive to deliver the most effective level of police service and protection to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of the Town of Marion. This goal will be accomplished by fostering positive community relationships through approachable and professional employees that are responsive to the needs of the public. The Marion Police Department will serve all with fairness, respect, and dignity.
