Recent Accomplishments
- The plant was upgraded from 2MGD (million gallons per day) to 3MGD in 2006 and now utilizes state of the art equipment. Radio communications link information from remote tank and pump sites to the computer-based system at the treatment plant.
- The design improvements have allowed us to be more productive and more efficient!
- We received the 2011 and 2019 Gold Award for Water Treatment Plant Performance from the Virginia Office of Drinking Water and were recently tied at #1 of 130 water treatment plants in the Commonwealth.
- Our bacteriology lab and our water quality lab abide by established Standard Operation Procedures to maintain State Certification. Our labs have received commendations for high levels of compliance with regulatory standards.
- Our team consists of two Class 1 and two Class 2 operators who also serve functions as lab technicians, maintenance technicians and compliance specialists.
