Facility

The Town of Marion Wastewater Reclamation Facility is a 3.4 million gallon per day treatment plant. Our effluent is discharged to the middle fork of the Holston river, which is an endangered species stream, therefore no chlorine is allowed on site. Disinfection is accomplished by ultra violet disinfection. The plant can boast a 99% removal efficiency of bio-chemical oxygen demand, total suspended solids, ammonia and e-coli.

The staff must also obtain 20 CEU's every two years to maintain their State issued Licenses and keep current on new regulations and trends.
