Rentable Amenities

  • Riverbend Shelter- Riverbend Shelter is ideal for social gatherings such as family reunions, birthday parties, etc. The shelter offers a covered shelter with picnic tables, grills, bathroom facilities.   • Riverbend Amphitheatre- Riverbend Ampitheatre is ideal for large gatherings such as weddings, music concerts, etc. The ampitheatre features a large stage surrounded by a large lawn with views of the Middle Fork of the Holston River. The ampitheatre is easily accessible for people with special needs. To book this facility, please click here. 
  • Town of Marion Recreation Building- The Town of Marion Recreation Building is located at 328 E Chilhowie St and is a venue for small gatherings such as birthday parties, business meetings, etc. The Recreation Building is handicap accessible. To book this facility, please click here. 

Playgrounds and Parks

Riverbend Playground  - Riverbend Playground provides residents a recreation area that has a playground for the kids, basketball goal, futsal court, grills, three small picnic shelters with a single picnic table, and one large picnic shelter with multiple picnic tables. Picnic shelters are available on first come first serve basis. The Middle Fork of the Holston River runs beside the playground offering oppurtunities for anglers to fish.
Chatham Hill Playground - Chatham Hill Playground is located on Chatham Hill Rd and provides a recreation area featuring a kid's playground, basketball court, pickleball courts, and three small picnic shelters with grills. Picnic shelters are available on a first come first serve basis.
Royal Oak Playground - Royal Oak Playground is located on highland Dr and provides a recreation area faturing a kids playground, 9 hold disc golf course, three small picnic shelters, and one large picnic shelter with multiple picnic tables. The Town of Marion's Women's Softball Field sits beside the playground. Picnic shelters are available on a first come first serve basis.
Steele Park Playground -Steele Park Playground is located on Iron St provides a recreation area featuring a kid's playground and two small picnic shelters with grills. Picnic shelters are available on a first come first serve basis.
Civitan Park - The Civitan Park is an outdoor recreation area on N Church St featuring a large picnic shelter along the banks of the Middle Fork of the Holston River. There are many great angling oppurtunities around Civitan Park. The shelter is available on a first come first serve basis.
Riverwalk Trail - The Riverwalk Trail is a walking/running trail located in three sections along the Middle Fork of the Holston River throughout town. The first section runs from Riverbend Park to Civitan Park with parking oppurtunities on both ends. The middle section runs behind the Town Pool and Recreation Building with parking in the Town Pool parking lot. The third section makes a loop beginning and ending on Campbell Ave. The parking lot for Campbell Ave section is immediately when you turn onto Campbell Ave.

Athletic Fields
Royal Oak Park Field - Loated adjacent to the Royal Oak Playground; The Recreation Department plays a variety of programs on the softball field including t-ball, boys and girls pitching machine, girls softball, and adult league co-ed softball.
Little Hurricane Field - The Little Hurricane Field is located on Hurricane Path and is used for multiple youth recreation programs such as t-ball, boys and girls pitching machine, girls softball, and boys baseball. Marion Senior High School also plays their girls softball home games at the Little Hurrican Field.
Band Field - The Band Field is located beside the Little Hurricane Field on Hurricane Path. The Recreation Department uses the Band Field for the football and co-ed soccer programs that are offered during the year.
VFW Field - The VFW Field is located on Hockett St and is used for multiple youth recreation programs such as t-ball, boys and girls pitching machine, and girls softball.
Marion Middle School Field - Located behind Marion Middle School on E Main St. Uses include t-ball and co-ed soccer.
Marion Senior High School Tennis Courts - Located on Hurricane Path adjacent to the Band Field and the Little Hurricane Field. The MSHS Tennis Courts consist of 4 lighted tennis courts that are available to the public. Youth tennis lessons are held at the MSHS Tennis courts each summer and MSHS uses the courts for their high school tennis matches.
