Water, Sewer, & Refuse Fees

Collection

Your water & sewer bill is based on your actual water consumption.  Payment is due 20 days from the mailing date.  Visa, Cash or Check accepted.  The Town of Marion is pleased to offer Online Tax & Utility Bill Payments here.

Payment / Disconnect Utility Policy

Payment Due:  Utility Bills will be mailed each month and must be paid in full by the due date of the following month to avoid delinquent penalties.

Delinquent Payment:  10% Penalty will be assessed and added to the delinquent account and/or outstanding balances not paid in full by the due date.

Delinquent Accounts:  Delinquent accounts may be disconnected, without further notice, if payment in full is not received.

Disconnect/Reconnect Charge:  A $30.00 disconnect/reconnect fee will be charged.  Payment in full, including fee, must be paid prior to 12:00 o'clock noon of that business day to reestablish water.  After 12:00 p.m. noon, reconnection of service will be next business day.

Service Fee: A $25 service fee is required for all bad checks.

Specialty Tap Fees

All other specialty water and sewer tap fees not specifically designated below will be calculated on a case-by-case basis comprised of actual labor, materials, and equipment  used.  An estimate of the fee will be provided by the Town but the invoice will be charged on actual costs incurred.

Water/Sewer Rates

Water Rates:

  • Inside Corporation Limits: First 2,000 gallons: $17.18 minimum charge.
  • Inside Corporation Limits: Over 2,000 gallons: $10.91 per 1,000 gallons.
  • Outside Corporation Limits: First 2,000 gallons: $34.31 minimum charge.
  • Outside Corporation Limits: Over 2,000 gallons: $21.73 per 1,000 gallons.

Sewer Rates:

  • Inside Corporation Limits: First 2,000 gallons: $17.18 minimum charge.
  • Inside Corporation Limits: Over 2,000 gallons: $10.39 per 1,000 gallons.
  • Outside Corporation Limits: First 2,000 gallons: $34.31 minimum charge.
  • Outside Corporation Limits: Over 2,000 gallons: $20.71 per 1,000 gallons.

Garbage Collection:

  • Residential Charges: $17.00 monthly.
  • Commercial Charges: $65.00 monthly.

Water Charges:

  • County Meters by Contract: $5.00 per 1,000 gallons.
  • Schools: $4.71 per 1,000 gallons.
  • Water Deposits (Renters): $50.00.

Water / Sewer Connections:

  • Residential Water Tap: Inside Corp - 3/4'' or 1" service: $900.00.
  • Residential Water Tap: Outside Corp - 3/4'' or 1" service: $1,100.00.
  • Residential Sewer Tap: Inside Corp - 4" service: $900.00.
  • Residential Sewer Tap: Outside Corp - 4" service: $1,100.00.
