The Town Crier Internet Edition is a html format, color version of Town Crier, a publication of the town of Marion. Due to the conversion from print stock into website format some cosmetic changes to the Town Crier have been made. The text content, however, remains the same as the print publication.

Once A Month Brush Pick-Up Schedule
Effective October 1

Recent programs at the Recreation Department include summer sports and women’s softball, football, cheerleading and girl’s basketball. The Town Pool had a great summer and closed on September 2nd. The pool has been covered and prepared for the winter. As always, the Recreation Department staff continually check the playgrounds and ballfields to ensure that equipment is in good repair.

Effective October 1, 2002 through April 30, 2003, brush and bagged grass (when applicable) will be picked-up once a month beginning the week of the fourth Monday of the month on the same day as the garbage is picked-up. For the rest of this year, brush pick-up will begin the week of November 25th and December 23rd.

As in the past, the Town of Marion will pick-up brush three (3) inches in diameter or smaller left at the edge of the street or at the curbside. To insure efficient pick-up, citizens are asked to have their brush out the night before the pick-up or by 8:00 a.m. of the morning of the pick-up.

Persons having any questions about the service are asked to call the Town of Marion office 783-4113.
