| The Town of Marion has a Council/Manager form of government. There
are seven Council members and a mayor, all elected at large from open Town
elections. Council members are elected for four year, staggered terms.
Council meets on the first and third Monday of each month at 7:00
p.m. in the Municipal Building, 138 West Main Street. If a regular meeting
falls on a scheduled holiday then a date for that meeting will be set by the Town Council at the meeting prior to the holiday, and the rescheduled meeting date will be advertized in the Smyth County News.
