Jack has been employed with the Town of Marion for 30 years. He has been public works director for 5 years. He was initially hired as a concrete laborer for approxitmately 2 years then promoted to foreman over concrete and held that position for 15 years. When the opportunity presented itself he became the Assistant public works director which he held for approxitmately 8 years.

Jeff Richardson is Water and Sewer foreman. Jeff has been employed with the Town of Marion for 30 years.
Rick Barlow is Streets foreman. Rick has been employed with the Town of Marion for 20 years.
Jim Burkett is Building and Grounds foreman. Jim has been employed with the Town of Marion for 12 years.

Larry Bowman is the Chief Mechanic. Larry has been employed with the Town of Marion for 20 years.
Graham (Hot Rod) Ellis is the Mechanic's Assistant. Graham has been has been employed with the Town of Marion for 29 years.

Mission Statement:
To serve the public's needs in a timely, efficent and professional manner. The department is responsible for a broad range of operations, such as, water & sewer maintenance, seasonal snow removal, brush, trash, and junk pick up, right of way maintenance, street patching, sign maintenance, traffic signals, storm drainage maintenance and seasonal leaf pick up.
The Town of Marion's public works department is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Have Junk you need to get rid of?
Call 276-783-4113 EXT. 221,226,227,228,or 229 and a work order will be created to have it removed.
Have brush and trimmings you need to get rid of?
The Town of Marion will remove it for you. All you have to do is sit it at the curbside on the 4th week of each month (From October - March) Starting April 1st thru September, the Town will pick it up daily as long as it's at your curbside.
Need to borrow a truck for the weekend?
Starting May 1, 2009 the Town of Marion's Truck Loaner program will be in effect til September 30, 2009. You can either come to the engineering department, located at 138 West Main Street in the Municipal Building, on the lower level and see Todd Long for an application. This is a first come first serve basis.
