Mayor's Welcome
Discover the Heritage and Hospitality of Marion, Virginia, a picturesque village in the Mountains of Southwest Virginia. Marion is a town full of historical character and charm. Our vision is in the past with plans for the future. We are a community proud of our past, comfortable with the present, and confident in our future. We are a community in which volunteers work together to enhance our standard of living.
The renovation of the Lincoln Theatre, a pre-depression theater built on a Mayan Theme and the River Walk, a linear park which runs the length of the town along the Middle Fork of the Holston River are two examples of Marionites pulling together to improve the community.
Marion is truly a community of volunteers - a community of neighbors helping neighbors. Marion is also a place where no one remains a stranger for very long; where people work together for the common good, and where children can find wholesome activities and parents can find community support for cherished family values.
This site contains a wealth of information about our government, recreation, history, and more. Please explore; we have something to offer everyone.
Come join us -- you are guaranteed to have a good time.
Sincerely,
David Helms Mayor
