Marion, Virginia

Small Business Information

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam has ordered that several of our small businesses to close - specifically those in personal care, such as barbers, stylists, along with indoor recreation and community gathering spaces.  Grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies, and general goods stores will always remain open.  Other retail businesses may choose to remain open if they limit store occupancy to 10 or fewer and maintain CDC guidelines for social distancing.  And restaurants may remain open with drive through and curbside service, but dining rooms are closed.

For those temporarily displaced by COVID-19 business closures, Virginia has suspended the one week waiting period and the requirements to conduct a weekly job search for unemployment benefits. If you are a worker who has been totally or partially separated from your job due to Coronavirus, please file a claim online at http://www.vec.virginia.gov/unemployed or call 1-866-832-2363.
