The Town of Marion is excited to announce that Mountain Empire Legal Services is officially open in downtown Marion! Located at 134 East Main Street in Marion, Mountain Empire Legal Services is the perfect business to help with estate planning and elder law services.
At Mountain Empire Legal Services, their goal is to provide a comprehensive legal plan for each of their clients. They work with clients from all walks of life with unique goals, concerns, and family dynamics. By getting to know their clients and their individual scenarios, they can create a plan that efficiently manages risks for your family, whether the risk is management of funds, taxes, incapacity, or protecting your savings and real estate.
In addition to estate planning and elderly law services, they help with wills, trusts, powers of attorney, medical directives, HIPPA, long term care planning, Medicaid qualifications, Veterans Benefits, Veteran's Pension planning, commercial real estate transactions, business organization and general contracts.
"I first became interested in estate planning when I worked for the USAA in the financial planning division," said Malcolm Brown, IV, owner of Mountain Empire Legal Services. "We frequently worked with attorneys who either don't understand the full financial picture for the families we worked with or did not take the time to recognize their clients' needs. That's when I decided I wanted to go to law school to specifically work with families planning their financial future."
Growing up in the funeral services business, Brown has gained much knowledge on preparing for the future. His education, experience in the family business, and his father's death have uniquely qualified him to understand and provide a proactive plan to help protect loved ones and their assets, to help plan for long term care, and to assist the administration of the decedent's final wishes in the aftermath of death.
Together, Malcolm and his legal team consisting of Legal Assistants Libby Hoffman and Scott Oldham, and Marketing Intern, Brian Leaman Jr., are able to provide a multitude of services to anyone in need. "It doesn't matter how much you have, but it matters that what you do have benefits your loved ones."
Mountain Empire Legal Services are open Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm.
