For many years, the Town of Marion has kicked off the holiday season the weekend before Thanksgiving. After listening to an abundance of requests to change that, Marion Downtown and the Town of Marion have decided to revamp their wonderful holiday weekend, in hopes of capturing more holiday spirit for the event! MERLE NORMAN RELOCATES DOWNTOWN TO FURTHER EXPANSION AS BELLADONNA SALON

Merle Norman has relocated to 244 North Main Street from their previous location at 320 North Main Street. Merle Norman has been a full service salon in Marion since 1998. With the business continuing to grow, and with new services provided, relocation was essential to assisting in their expansion and continued success. While the salon still carries Merle Norman beauty cosmetics, owners Donna and Allyson Blevins, have given the salon a new name, Belladonna Salon, which means beautiful woman in Italian. WINNERS OF MARION DOWNTOWN’S 2017 SCARECROW LANE ANNOUNCED

For the sixth year in a row, Main Street in Marion Downtown was lined with two dozen of the most creative, wacky and fun scarecrows! Businesses and organizations throughout Marion worked exceptionally hard to create their scarecrows in hopes of placing in the annual contest. This year, the competition was by far the most impressive to date. Every participant went above and beyond to construct extraordinary scarecrows that were displayed throughout downtown Marion's historic district.
