Marion Downtown is now accepting applications for the 33rd Annual Marion Downtown Chili Cook-off, set for Saturday, July 20th.
Applications may be picked up at Marion Town Hall or by clicking HERE.
Chili teams will compete on Main Street for over $500 in cash and trophies, and most importantly, bragging rights for "The Best Chili in Town." Local judges score the concoctions based upon appearance, aroma, texture, spiciness, and overall taste. Teams are encouraged to showcase their originality too, with a trophy and cash prize for "showmanship" on the line.

All teams must obtain a temporary food permit from the Virginia Department of Health, & you can recieve that by calling (276) 781-7450

Broad St. will be taken over by this years Car Show show casing, cars, trucks and motorcycles alike!

Also Marion Downtown will be hosting "The Hungriest Mother Great American Food Challenge", featuring delectable's from downtown eateries for the gastronomic adventurers! Ten participants for each contest.
At 7:30pm, Chili Championship winners will be announced on the Chili Stage in front of Marion Town Hall!
FREE SHUTTLE ALL WEEKEND:
Free shuttle service for all 3 days during Hungry Mother Festival hours will be provided by District Three Public Transit with free bus rides between the Farmer’s Market in downtown Marion and Hungry Mother State Park and another bus within the Hungry Mother State Park with rides between the Boat Dock/Restaurant and the parking lot at Hemlock Haven.
These free bus rides will depart each day on a schedule of every 30 minutes from the Farmer’s Market in downtown Marion beginning at 9:30am and go directly to the Hungry Mother State Park Boat Dock/Restaurant. The last free shuttle ride of the day back to downtown Marion departing Hungry Mother State Park Boat Dock/Restaurant will be at 6:00pm on Friday, 6:00pm on Saturday, and 5:00pm on Sunday.
